A six-week course for beginners, returners and improvers exploring fundamentals and firm foundations in yoga.
A regular yoga practice has the ability to help us lead a happier and healthier life and there is real value in a practice done well and with integrity. This course is a simple and honest exploration of the fundamentals of yoga asana. If you've been away from the mat for a while, or if you simply want to gain a deeper understanding of the building blocks of yoga then this is for you.

Experience the benefits of creating energy, strength and fitness alongside cultivating relaxation and flexibility in one class! We will slowly warm up and centre body and mind with a few Yin poses, we then move into a faster ashtanga influenced sequence flowing through sun salutations and standing postures. We finish again with a few grounding Yin and restorative poses.

- Jan 25th - Standing Poses - Establish a solid support system with these blueprint poses that form the foundation all the other poses.
- Feb 29th - Fwd Bends and twists - Experience these poses with more flexibility through correct movement of the spine and the use of props.
- March 28th - Backbends - Starting with simple backbends we will explore how these poses should be constructed without compressing the spine before progressing to more complex poses.
- April 25th - Restore and Breath - A restorative, re- energising practice moving toward Pranayama conditioning of the breath
- May 30th - Inversions - Construct a correct foundation in these asanas or rebuild your inversion practice the Iyengar way.
- June 27th - A chair for yoga - The use of the chair to enable even better architecture and expression of asana in an all round yoga practice.

Natalie from The New You Project holds monthly mindful classes on the first Sunday of every month from 6.30-8.30pm. This is a great way to learn the benefits of mindfulness & help you to bring mindfulness into your every day lives to help live peacefully in this frantic world. The class consists of meditations, light yoga, breathing techniques, activities and discussions. This is not a group counselling class, it’s a session where you can feel comfortable and learn tools that can be used to self help. £15 a class (If you are a New You Project graduate the classes will be free of charge and can come to the class at 7pm after the introduction)
